Leadership Development Programme

Help your people develop a range of vital practical skills and awareness that will maximise their potential and bring out the best in others…

Leadership is a mindset, a way of being – a choice you make. And leaders can come from anywhere. You don’t have to enjoy a certain pay-grade or rank in an organisation to demonstrate leadership behaviour. Leadership is a key skill for anyone who wants to be successful in their career and to develop both themselves and others.

While some people have natural leadership qualities that can be refined and built upon - everyone can learn to develop the mindset, behaviours and skills that make you the sort of person who is an agent of change, a positive influence, and an enabler of other people. That’s what our leadership programme is all about.

This programme is for any organisation seeking to develop the leadership capabilities of its people. Typically, our clients choose this programme:

  • As a motivational and developmental programme, to help them develop their next generation of leaders.

  • For staff who are new leaders or have recently been promoted to a more senior position - perhaps with responsibility for others for the first time.

  • To help bring together a management team going through a transition of function or personnel.

  • For existing leaders and managers – even at a very senior level – who are keen to reflect on and revisit their current practice.

  • For any combination of the above.

As with all our in-house programmes, we design our leadership training around your requirements and constraints.

Typically, though, programmes last two days, with a group of around 8 delegates, perhaps located somewhere off site where people can bond and reflect together overnight. Ideally there’ll be ongoing follow-up sessions from a month or two later, to share feedback, boost skills learning and refresh people’s understanding of the programme.

By the end of the programme, as a delegate you will come away with:

  • A heightened awareness of what effective leadership is (and isn’t).

  • A better understanding of yourself and the type of leader you want to be.

  • A range of tools and techniques that you can use to help make you a better leader – practical skills that will benefit you not just in your current role but throughout your life and career.

The sessions combine theory, discussion and activities in a frank, intimate but secure setting - giving delegates the chance to reflect on learnings and put them into practice as they go. The specific content will be bespoke for you, but areas we typically cover include:

  • What is leadership? What makes an effective leader?
  • The difference between leadership and management.
  • How to develop your own personal leadership style and brand.
  • Coaching, in theory and practice.
  • Emotional intelligence.
  • Motivating and influencing others.
  • Giving feedback.
  • How to delegate effectively and start to develop the leaders of tomorrow.
